Getting the Christmas Spirit at Silver Dollar City

Christmas SpiritHow do you get into the Christmas Spirit? Around here, one of our favorite ways to do it is to visit Silver Dollar City and walk through the two million lights they have on display! (This post may contain affiliate links.  This means that if you purchase a product through a link we have here in the post, we may be compensated at no cost to you.)

Take a stroll with me as I show you a few of the sights at Silver Dollar City……………….

As we entered Silver Dollar City, before dusk, one of the first places we see is the Apple Butter store.  The staff are all in period attire to make the experience as authentic as possible!

As we continued to walk we came across the canopy of lights that you cannot help but walk through and enjoy!

Next, we come up a hill and take in the beautiful lit trees.  By themselves, the trees are bare and dreary; however with their more than two million lights throughout the park, the trees light up prettier than ever after dark!

Visiting the City is never complete without going to the Wilderness Church!  It is a beautiful, authentic Church with a window that overlooks some beautiful wilderness.

Next, the old School House!  When you go into visit, there is a very knowledgeable staff member to give you a history lesson!

As the sun began to set, the lights became more brilliant and prominent.  This large wreath is just one beautiful example!

Then, at 6pm and 8pm there is a Christmas Parade!  All sorts of Christmas characters make their way through the crowds and wow the patrons!  There is something for everyone.

Here is a ‘Toy’ Soldier in the parade!  It is quite a scene!

Then, of course, you can always see Santa and Mrs. Claus in one of the many stores.  So many stores!  Come to Silver Dollar City if you can and get in the Christmas Spirit!
