How to Quickly Shred Chicken!

One of my favorite Bloggers, Andrea Dekker, explained how she shreds chicken fast!  So I thought I would try it and WOW was she right!  Here is how I did it:

  • Cooked 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs in my small crock pot (seriously, I think this crock pot is 20 years old!) It’s a 1 1/2 quart crock pot so I put in the chicken first, then fill it to the top with water (maybe 6 cups, or so).

  • Once cooked (usually on high for a couple hours), put the chicken into a bowl that you can use a hand mixer with (I have a large plastic one perfect for this and I think it is as old as the crock pot!)Cooked Chicken


  • Next, take your hand mixer and ‘mix’ it in the bowl.  This literally took me 9 seconds!Shredded Chicken


Note… this works best when the chicken is boiled or cooked in a crock pot, like I have shown.  Then, of course, you can use the water that the chicken cooked in as broth!
